24 Jul Hooked On You
Melodically powerful and heartfelt, the stunning album ‘Hooked On You‘ is set for release by the formidable Greg McLeish Group. Original rock and blues, tinged with amazing rhythms, coupled with the incredible voices of Sarah Brown and Petra Luke make this record very special indeed.
Greg McLeish is a rhythm & blues survivor and ‘Hooked On You’ is the end product of his relentless touring spread across endless miles of the Australian Outback, playing to the toughest audiences imaginable.
Recorded at the legendary Air Studios, Lyndhurst, the album includes contributions from the cream of London’s session players including B.J.Cole (slide guitar), Danny Cummings (Dire Straits), Chris Worsey (cello) and Andy Findon (sax & flute).
Featured on many of the songs including the title track is gospel queen Sarah Brown (Simple Minds, Roxy Music).

Greg’s blues and gospel credentials were developed in Perth, Western Australia together with his travels to the USA and now London. His original songs stem from his musical odyssey, Stratocaster in hand and inspired by his gospel and blues heroes. Driven by an unearthly creative urge he wrote, produced and arranged the entire record which is underpinned by his gritty guitar style.
From the social comment of “Politician’s Song” and “Rich Man’s Town” to the gospel tinged “Jonah 40 More Days” Greg’s lyrics speak to all. In contrast, his song “Operation Dynamo” reflects his involvement in the restoration of the New Britannic vessel used in the 1940 Dunkirk Evacuation.
